Scenario

Tom Boyd is a pet shop owner of Tompets in Ipswich. Tompets wants to use social media to raise awareness of his pet shop. He wants to promote Tompets dog food blend which is unique to his pet shop. Tom wants to use social advertising to promote his new dog food blend:

1. Write a report to include the following:

 Plan two Social Networking site advertising campaigns to run in parallel for Tom’s business. Provide:  (12 marks)

Campaign 1

– aims: To create better brand awareness of Tompets.

– objectives: to gain 1 thousand new followers and get an average of 100 to 200 likes per post across Instagram and Facebook in the next two weeks.

– campaign schedule: The campaign will be over a 2 week period and I will aim to post at least 3-5 posts per day on Instagram and Facebook.

– target audience: The target audience for this campaign will be pet owners or people who know a pet owner.

 

Campaign 2

 

– aims: To Promote the product and increase sales of Tompets dog food blend.

– objectives: to sell 500 tins of the dog food blend within two weeks.

Tom has created the following three parallel campaigns for a social networking site.

 Suggest five changes to the campaigns that Tom should consider. (5 marks)

  • An image of the brand and the dog food could be included in the campaign to help with brand awareness.
  • Images of dogs eating the food.
  • have some actual information about the pet food (whats in it)
  • Include the audience and encourage engagement via comments,
  • Include a USP of the company.

2. Tom would like to create a digital voucher campaign for his blend of dog food.

Create a report including:

  •  a SMART plan for Tom’s digital voucher campaign with

– aim:  to bring in new customers and increase sales

– objectives:  To gain 1000 new customers by the end of the month.

– audience: dog owners or people that know dog owners.

– time constraint: The campaign will last on month and I will be aiming to post at least 2 ads a day parallel to the other campaigns.

– specifics of the offer: The offer will be that new customers will get 25% off their first purchase of the dog food.

– mechanism: When the customer creates an account online or signs up in our store they will automatically get the discount assigned to their first purchase.

     explanation of three methods of managing the digital voucher system marketing campaign
  • You could use Bitly to monitor and manage how many people have clicked on your link to the website from the ad.
  • Woo-commerce can tell you how many times a coupon has been used if you use their coupon system.
  • Google analytics can be used to see how many people have visited a site and tell you important sales data.

 explanation of two ways to measure the effectiveness of the digital voucher campaign planned.

  • You could used social networking tools and google analytics to see how many people have clicked onto the website from the social ad.
  • You can see how many likes and shares the ads have gotten on social media. High amount of shares results in good distribution and brand awareness.
